Him jumping from the 6th floor didn't and probably wouldn't even have changed anything. He died because he panicked, which would have been the same on the 5th floor. If he actually properly jumped he would have overshooted, missed the timing to roll and would maybe have broken his legs but most likely wouldn't have died.
Also there were so many clues that made Ueda extremely suspicious, embarrassing that no one noticed those besides Conan.

Just found this out but if you read what's behind shinichi in the opening you will see something amazing it isn't directly a spoiler either

Not surprising

Filler

If Conan keeps on hinting at him being Sleeping Kogoro he is going to get found out one day

Araide!?!! Why's this random filler character look so much like Araide

7:14 It's May in this episode..? How interesting... I recall the events of episode 1 taking place in January so at least 5 months must've passed during the span of the episodes up till this one. However, there is a valentines episode later on in the series (not including the the Valentine's filler episode that was like episode 6 because that complicates things even more), and since it's pretty clear that a whole year hasn't passed between episode 6 and the Valentine's episode later, then it's impossible for this episode to be set in may.
Ok I really need to stop thinking into these things too much. Everyone already knows the timeline of this show is incredibly fucked up, so it's no use trying to make any sense of it. This episode was probably just released in May or something.

12:11 Ok yeah I knew it

Criminals need to stop inviting famous detectives over when they plan on murdering someone I swear to God

This episode is so similar to this one other episode later in the show, the one with Jodie and Heiji in it. Perhaps they were taking a bit too much inspiration from the manga.

i had to look Ariade's picture up on MyAnimeList... i ALSO thought that Doctor Hottie from the HighSchoolPlay who was supposed to play Ran's 'prince' after Sonoko hurt her wrist was this Doctor Ueda. i thought to myself, "damn. . . the drama club is going to need a new sensei/leader/advisor." also, since you keep blabbing Vermouth's 'disguise' i wondered "is Megure and Kogoro and Conan and our fave dere-dere detective Takagi (Sato-chan! Sato-chaaannn!) hahah! ;) going to encounter some assassination plot by the BO!"

factoid 1. both wear glasses. but, Ari's are aviators (think Top Gun) Ueda's are rectangular but rounded on the left and right sides of both lenses.

factoid 2. both have dark brown hair, with sharp pointed bangs in the front, and short over the ears and behind the neck.

factoid 3. both are shown wearing a sweater type of top. but Ueda's is a pale blue-green sweater over a light blue dress-shirt, Ariade is shown wearing a dark hunter green sweater base with a pale tan suit jacket atop it.

factoid 4. both are doctors.

mhm so yeah! we both got tricked on this one! :>

taking 'general anime timelines' 12 episodes normally covers a full year, depending on how quickly the manga/source moved through time and how much of the source the anime folks want to cover. especially the slice of high school life romances and romcoms. you know how much they depend on 'seasonal cues' to plot events around.

considering how many episodes in total this franchise is, without the movies? Conan, Ran, the Detective Boys Club all should be dead of old age. Ran should have popped out a kid or two for Shin, those kids should be adults with their own kids, and Kogoro should be permanently retired in a grave underneath a beach somewhere with bouncy bikini-babes.

this week alone they hit 1038. using my vague 12 eps equals 1 year hypothesis? this week would mean 86.5 YEARS passed since episode 1. :> NOT counting the double and triple episodes cases as shorter periods of time... of course! in season 9 eps220-254 there are EIGHT 2 parters and ONE 3 parter (mermaid island). god i love the conan wikipedia listings of episode numbers with titles. :D

this is the same problem with more immortal than a vampire Ash K... who will eternally be a prepubescent tween boy chasing pocket-monsters.

:D

Yeah, this show's timeline is absolutely messed up. I believe in some interview the author said the whole show takes place over just 6 months, which, even ignoring the 2 Valentine's day episodes I mentioned, is already not possible. Conan and co must be running into like multiple murders a day which we know isn't happening. Plus there's multiple winter episodes too

Also glad I wasn't the only who thought that was Araide there!

Krazy_Kirby • 5 months ago

it's why the gag spin-off has constant murders happen.
less than a year has passed in canon

well.... filler? nothing to say just HOW FUCKING DUMB DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO:
1 - JUMP OFF A BUILDING BACK AND FORTH INSTEAD OF GOING IN TO YOUR HOUSE LIKE A NORMAL CIVIL HUMAN
2 - HOW WOULD SOMEONE NOT NOTICE THE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE EVEN IN THE DARK AND JUST JUMP THAT HIGH UP THERE????

plus i was like ARAIDE????? WHAT ARE YOU DOING? until later i realized araide last name isn't uede so i was like wait a min- THEY'RE NOT THE SAME PERSON? like too similar almost like twins

07:47 my guess is that this is proof that he was dead a long time ago. You could see that the bucket had ice thus the tongs. I think his friend killed him put his body on the railing forgot to put shoes on. But he was dead before he fell. And they used some kind of contraption to make him fall on time. Thus creating an aliby for himself. Im not sure he put the body on the railing so ignore that if it’s wrong.
10:40 my guess is that his room was involved in the murder and he used it somehow to murder his friend. Him changing was his excuse to put everything back to place. But shouldn’t there have been drag marks? Also about the cigarettes 🚬 i have two theories
1. this isn't his room and he has another room (the murderer). Unlikely
2. he isn't sensitive to smoke and has been lying about it for some reason.
3. his friend is a heavy smoker. He got his drunk friend up one floor and he started smoking then when he passed out 😵 he made a contraption that made him fall. That may explain why he redecorated his room. To make it seem like it is his friends room.
11:57 Looks like he's been lying about the calls thats why there were no messages.
I was wrong in some details but right in many i take that as a w

Ueda looks exactly like Araide.

strange guy • 1 year ago

This reminds me of that case where this guy murdered his assistant because the stuff she said to him and made it seem like she died when she was murdered

Tran Duy • 2 years ago

okay im pretty sure if it happened in real life i dont think a single soul would know it was a murder instead of accident tbh

actually, those carpet marks are used as evidence in alot of 'shifted rooms' cases in real-life. most folks don't realize that their furniture leaves such 'permanent' indications of where the pieces have been for months on end.

for an example, how you place your pictures and frames in your house causes the paint to fade differently on the walls. especially in rooms that get alot of direct and in-direct sunlight. say, you and somebody got into a fight in your home. some pictures and frames were knocked off the walls and broken. you kill that person and dispose of as much evidence in your home as possible. but, you hang up new frames and pictures on the walls using the same hanger holes. unfortunately, you forgot that your old frames n pictures were shaped and sized differently than the new ones. so the fade marks on your walls wouldn't fit your new decor. especially if you chose a few frames that were smaller than the old ones.

plus, that ashtray in his apartment is a damn obvious mis-placed item; after Conan himself observed the doctor coughing and politely complaining about Kogoro's half snuffed cig in the cafe. you're probably not used to ANY resturaunt allowing open smoking inside. remember, this manga was written mostly in the late 1990's and early 2000's by this point in the series. so smoking was a little more accepted by the world public 21 years ago. episode 232 was broadcast May of 2001 in Japan. so having a full-on ban for smoking in 'family restaurants' like that cafe wasn't fully in effect in Japan yet. they still had smoking sections back then. those places that serve alcohol or are generally considered 'only a bar' in Japan still selectively permit smoking in the general seating even today. it is up to the owners. but that is becoming more and more rare in Japan these days.
